Administrative/Insurance Support Assistant (Japanese/English)

Location: Cypress, CA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time

Salary: $50,000 $52,000/year (Full-time equivalent)

 

Position Overview

This position mainly supports Japanese clients living in the U.S., including expatriates and local Japanese residents.

The role focuses on customer support and administrative tasks for existing clients. No sales or cold calling is required.

Training will be provided, so entry-level candidates and those without insurance experience are welcome to apply.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support clients with personal insurance services such as auto and home insurance
  • Assist Japanese-speaking clients with policy-related questions and requests
  • Handle policy updates, renewals, and related paperwork
  • Prepare and process documents accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate with clients mainly through email and phone
  • Work closely with internal team members and insurance companies
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

 

Qualifications

  • Business-level Japanese communication skills (email and conversation)
  • Ability to communicate professionally in English at work
  • Previous insurance experience is a plus, but not required
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and handle responsibilities proactively
  • Comfortable working in a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Able to adapt well to an American workplace culture

 

Work Schedule

  • Full-time or part-time available (part-time under 30 hours/week)
  • Part-time schedule is mainly afternoon hours
  • Candidates interested in transitioning to full-time in the future are welcome
  • Flexible working hours between approximately 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid schedule (in-office on Mondays and Thursdays)
  • No overtime required

 

Team Structure

  • Department size: approximately 10 members
  • Japanese-speaking staff: 2 members
  • Report to the Personal Insurance Manager
  • Internal communication is mainly in English
