Position Summary

The Production Scheduler plans and manages daily and weekly production schedules in a food manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure products are made on time while efficiently using labor, ingredients, and equipment. The position works closely with production, inventory, quality, and logistics teams while following food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules based on order demand
  • Adjust schedules based on equipment issues, ingredient availability, or quality holds
  • Plan production runs to reduce downtime, changeovers, and allergen risks
  • Monitor ingredient lead times, expiration dates, FIFO usage, and inventory levels
  • Coordinate with inventory control to support just-in-time production and traceability
  • Work closely with production supervisors to confirm labor and equipment availability
  • Communicate schedule updates, delays, and priorities to internal teams
  • Act as the main contact for production scheduling questions and status updates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing environments such as bakery, dairy, meat, beverages, or ready-to-eat products
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, sanitation)
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for production planning and batch records

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Food Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of production scheduling or production planning experience (food or beverage preferred)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
