A Japanese machinery manufacturer in Illinois is seeking a CNC Service Engineer.
This position involves the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC equipment across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Position: Service Engineer
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Summary
Install, set-up and train on computerized numerical controlled multi axis CNC milling, turning, CNC turning, machinery as needed within the continental United States, Canada and Mexico.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent + 3 years experience in machine repair and troubleshooting and installing.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings of part prints, pick tooling, set up machine, create program and run test parts.
- Perform detailed inspection with precision measuring equipment of the customer’s runoff requirements to prove out the capability of the machines.
- Strong math skills in geometry, algebra and trigonometry.
- Able to read electrical wiring diagrams, ladder logic drawings, electronic drawings, hydraulic & pneumatic diagrams.
- Language: English required; Japanese language skills are a plus but not required
- Experience in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, CAD/CAM drawing.
- Possess excellent written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail.
- Able to process part prints to a working G/M-code program.
- Ability to interact with customers, vendors and other staff members in calm, professional manner.
- Must be able to work without supervision and make decisive decisions on the spur of the moment that will affect the overall project.
- Valid driver’s & passport required.
- Able to travel at any given moment to provide service to our customers located in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Typical Duties Include – CNC Service Engineer
- Responsible for installation, programming, and repair of computer numeric controlled production equipment within the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- Demonstrating machines at machine tool shows and our showroom to potential customers.
- Visit customer locations and provide technical support.
- Installation/maintain/repair CNC Machine Tool at customer locations.
- Responsible for daily communication with customers and internal operation.
- Manage data and coordinate information flow.
- Other assigned tasks.
Education Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent + 3 years in related field.
- Will report to Engineering/Operation Manager.
