Job Title: Quality Admin/Assistant Sales

Location: Elgin, IL

Department: Sales 

Report to: General Manager 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Product: Plastic injection molds

Travel: Occasionally , may include overnights(s), car used.

Position Overview

This role supports quality administration, sales assistance, and program management activities. The position works closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure product quality, accurate documentation, and smooth coordination across projects.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Administration

  • Conduct design reviews using checklists and MDS; prepare design review reports with managerial guidance
  • Perform part and mold inspections; create inspection reports and related documentation
  • Communicate quality feedback and reports to vendors
  • Attend domestic and international tooling trials; document mold trials and track issues through closure
  • Support and maintain quality evaluation systems, including ISO-related processes

Sales Support

  • Prepare quote sheets, issue RFQs to vendors, and manage quote documentation
  • Coordinate ECI studies and quotes with management approval
  • Maintain sales- and quality-related documentation, including customer data and specifications
  • Manage data and sample parts

Program Management Support

  • Support design reviews and documentation (MDS) with management approval
  • Coordinate Mold Sample Requests (MSR) with vendors and Tool Progress Reports (TPR) with customers
  • Handle material (resin) coordination
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding project status and requirements

General Duties

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and productivity
  • Perform clerical tasks, special projects, and other duties as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records, ethical standards, and clear communication
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or training
  • Basic understanding of molds and mold-related products
  • Experience with computers and/or CAD systems

Skills & Competencies

  • Must have driver's license and automotive insurance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office systems

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing/plant environment with some noise
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Requires standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and arms as part of daily work
