Human Resources Director(HR & GA)

Position: Human Resources Director

Location: Santa Fe Springs CA, (On-site at a food manufacturing facility / plant)

Salary: $120-140K

【Position Summary】

Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and oversee all HR and General Affairs functions. This role will plan, develop, and execute HR policies and initiatives aligned with the company’s mission and talent strategy, while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.

【Key Responsibilities】

  • Lead and manage the daily workflow of the HR & GA department and supervise team members.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train HR/GA staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and handle employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policies.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive HR strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and organizational development.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, trainings, and initiatives that support compliance and business goals.
  • Oversee full-cycle HR programs company-wide, including:
    • Compensation & benefits administration
    • Leave management
    • Employee relations / disciplinary matters
    • Dispute resolution and investigations
    • Performance & talent management
    • Employee engagement, morale, recognition
    • Safety, health, and training & development programs
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations, updating policies as needed.
  • Research HR and organizational trends using reports/metrics and apply best practices accordingly.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes, industry trends, and HR technologies; provide updates to leadership.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Support professional development and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

【Required Skills & Qualifications】

  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience in HR.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English and Spanish.
    • Japanese communication ability is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law and HR compliance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with HRIS and ADP (or ability to quickly learn).

【Education & Experience】

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification required.
  • Minimum 7 years of on-site HR management experience required.
  • USDA-regulated food industry experience is strongly preferred.
