We are seeking a Construction Quality Control Engineer to support on-site construction activities for water treatment system projects. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and inspectors to support successful project delivery, with a focus on piping installation and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities Construction & Quality Control (90%)
- Support the Site Manager in coordinating construction activities, site setup, and safety compliance
- Monitor progress against drawings, P&IDs, and piping layouts; identify and report discrepancies
- Coordinate delivery and installation of equipment and SKID units
- Prepare for and support external quality inspections and ensure documentation readiness
- Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure inspection readiness and resolve quality issues
- Identify non-conformances and assist with corrective actions and documentation
- Participate in meetings with contractors and internal teams to communicate quality expectations
Work Schedule: On-site, 5 days/week
Travel: ~10% (outside Arizona)
Reporting & Support (10%)
- Prepare weekly progress and issue reports
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with additional tasks as needed
- Maintain clear communication with field and office teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards
- Escalate issues affecting quality, safety, cost, or schedule
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction quality control or inspection experience
- Experience with industrial facilities, water treatment, or piping systems preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Skills
- Strong understanding of construction QA/QC practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience managing inspections and non-conformance reports
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Certifications
- Valid U.S. work authorization required
- Valid Driver’s License
- OSHA 30 (Construction) and OSHA 510 (or willingness to obtain)
- Preferred: CQE, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
- Preferred: HAZWOPER, NFPA 70E
Work Environment
This role is based on active construction sites and requires:
- Walking, standing, and inspecting work areas
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Working at heights or in confined spaces
- Use of PPE at all times
