Compensation: $20/hour and up (DOE)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (45-minute unpaid lunch; occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required)

Position Summary

The Import Customer Service Associate supports import operations by handling customer inquiries, tracking shipments, coordinating with internal teams and carriers, and ensuring accurate documentation and high levels of customer satisfaction. Candidates with or without prior experience are welcome.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Provide shipment status updates, scheduling support, and quote-related communication
  • Coordinate local pickups and deliveries with carriers
  • Handle billing and collections-related inquiries
  • Proactively follow up on shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Enter and maintain accurate job data in internal logistics systems following SOPs
  • Coordinate tasks and deliverables with internal operations teams
  • Identify customer issues, propose solutions, and escalate complex matters as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions
  • Perform other general duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or challenging situations
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Willingness to learn and work independently or as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of logistics, import operations, or international shipping
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Familiarity with logistics or data-entry systems
