Inspection Coordinator – Experienced Candidates Only

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Full-time

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel — approximately one full week per month

This position is strictly for experienced Inspection Coordinators with a proven background in fabrication shop inspections.

Candidates without hands-on vendor shop inspection experience will not be considered.

The role requires regular, frequent travel (≈ one week per month) to fabrication shops and vendor facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all fabrication shop inspection activities with vendors, internal teams, and external inspectors
  • Conduct shop inspections or audits and issue professional reports within required timelines
  • Develop inspection execution plans based on ITPs, specifications, and project needs
  • Monitor vendor inspection schedules, VPIS, NCRs, and fabrication progress
  • Review technical documents: ITP, WPS, NDT procedures, FAT procedures, certificates, etc.
  • Support preparation of weekly/monthly inspection reports
  • Manage NCR issuance, follow-up, and closure
  • Provide guidance to fabrication inspectors and ensure compliance

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

  • Minimum 5 years of vendor shop fabrication inspection coordination, QA/QC, or fabrication quality management experience
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation)
  • Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, machining, fit-up, coating, and assembly processes
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and industry codes (ASME, API, AWS, ISO, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience reviewing inspection reports, NCRs, MPRs, MDRs
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inspection/ERP/QMS systems (SAP, SmartPlant, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to travel one full week per month

  • ASNT or ISO 9712 Level II
  • CompEx
  • Functional Safety (ISA/TÜV)
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
