The Plant Administration / Accounting Associate works closely with manufacturing and plant personnel to support internal accounting and operational reporting. This role is responsible for collecting, verifying, analyzing, and reporting production and cost data that supports efficient plant operations and informed decision-making. The position also assists the Plant Controller with reporting, analysis, and special projects related to manufacturing performance.
This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, verify, and report production data accurately and on time for cost accounting purposes
Support the Plant Controller with administrative and accounting-related documentation
Communicate with cross-functional plant and departmental teams to support operational objectives
Develop, maintain, and review controls for data accumulation and reporting systems
Perform cost accumulation activities and update bill of material (BOM) standard costs
Prepare and review reports using Microsoft Excel, including inventory summaries, production reports, and maintenance/supply tracking
Assist with analysis of capital budgeting requests
Support resolution of production-related issues and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (coursework in cost accounting or management accounting preferred)
3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the food processing or manufacturing industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Flexible self-starter who can perform effectively in ambiguous situations
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Bilingual skills preferred (Japanese/English or English/Spanish)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to learn and use ERP and automated systems (e.g., BOM systems, JD Edwards) with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions
Must meet vision and sensory requirements typical of a manufacturing environment
