Senior Accounting Associate – Japanese Bilingual

Location: Menlo Park, CA (Hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000

Working hours : 9-5 pm

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to take ownership of daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international investment environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across all financial processes.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and general ledger activities in coordination with external accounting partners.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure timely financial reporting.

Finance

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, including preparing short-term forecasts and liquidity reports.
  • Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning to support management decisions.

Operations & Compliance

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support compliance and internal control initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business operations and strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including bookkeeping and AP/AR management.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in supporting audits and preparing audit documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (reading and writing required).
