An international manufacturer is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead its North America organization, overseeing operations in both the United States and Mexico.
This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for business performance, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering financial results. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor senior leaders, and serve as the key liaison with executive leadership and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, a proven track record in manufacturing management, and the ability to inspire teams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all manufacturing operations (production, quality, supply chain, engineering) in the U.S. and Mexico.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to meet company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion and growth.
- Report directly to executive leadership with performance updates and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, operations management, and quality systems.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and business growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Proficient Japanese language skills required (verbal and written).
