A global semiconductor manufacturing technology company is seeking a Senior General Accountant for its San Jose operation. This position supports general accounting, Accounts Payable, financial closing, reporting, and audit activities while coordinating with corporate headquarters in Japan.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Position Summary<\/h2>\n

The Senior General Accountant will manage a broad range of corporate accounting responsibilities while overseeing and supporting the Accounts Payable team. This is a hands-on position requiring 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, strong AP expertise, and AP team supervisory or equivalent experience<\/strong>. Professional Japanese and English proficiency is required<\/strong> for financial reporting and communication with Japan headquarters.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Oversee and support the Accounts Payable team, including hands-on processing of high-volume vendor invoices.<\/li>\n
  • Manage daily general ledger activities and journal entries.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data.<\/li>\n
  • Perform and analyze monthly and year-end closing activities.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.<\/li>\n
  • Support internal managerial accounting activities.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare financial statements and support tax return filings.<\/li>\n
  • Assist the Accounting Team Lead with financial reports and analysis for Japan headquarters.<\/li>\n
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel.<\/li>\n
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other Operations department activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h2>\n

    Required:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Professional Japanese and English proficiency.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Hands-on Accounts Payable experience, including high-volume invoice processing.<\/li>\n
    • AP team supervisory or equivalent leadership experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Experience with monthly and year-end closing.<\/li>\n
    • Experience reporting financial information to corporate headquarters.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working in a fast-paced organization with 200+ employees.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.<\/li>\n
    • Strong accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n
    • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred:<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Semiconductor manufacturing or related industry experience.<\/li>\n
      • Tax-related certification.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with financial statement preparation, tax filings, and internal\/external audits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
