About the Role<\/h2>\n

A Japanese company is hiring full-time Pastry Chefs<\/strong> to join the opening team of a new caf\u00e9 and bakery in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

You will create signature pastries, cakes, and baked goods\u2014from recipe development and production to final presentation<\/strong>\u2014helping shape the visual identity and quality of the brand.<\/p>\n

The concept draws inspiration from Japanese food culture, fermentation, and health-conscious ingredients<\/strong>. Interest in Japanese food or culture is a plus, but Japanese language skills are not required.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Develop and standardize recipes for pastries, cakes, and baked goods<\/li>\n
  • Prepare creams, mousses, ganache, and other pastry components<\/li>\n
  • Manage temperature and humidity for chocolate tempering, refrigeration, freezing, and fermentation<\/li>\n
  • Finish and decorate products using classic and modern pastry techniques<\/li>\n
  • Support seasonal and limited-edition menu development<\/li>\n
  • Maintain consistent standards for appearance, flavor, and freshness<\/li>\n
  • Assist with food cost control and waste reduction<\/li>\n
  • Follow sanitation, food safety, and allergen procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • 2\u20133+ years of professional pastry experience preferred<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Strong skills in recipe development, temperature control, and plating<\/li>\n
    • Experience with French pastry techniques is a plus<\/li>\n
    • Strong attention to detail and visual presentation<\/li>\n
    • Creative, curious, and able to translate a concept into high-quality products<\/li>\n
