Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/h3>\n

Purchasing and Inventory Management \u2014 80%<\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Coordinate the local purchasing of frozen and dry food products, supplies, and non-food items<\/li>\n
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors<\/li>\n
  • Negotiate pricing and coordinate transportation and delivery schedules<\/li>\n
  • Support product development and quality assurance activities<\/li>\n
  • Create and manage purchase orders based on sales volume and inventory levels<\/li>\n
  • Maintain accurate inventory, pricing, receiving, and sales data in the company\u2019s ERP system<\/li>\n
  • Review and process receipts and invoices for payment<\/li>\n
  • Calculate product costs, pricing, and profit margins<\/li>\n
  • Communicate with trucking companies and vendors to ensure timely delivery<\/li>\n
  • Work with warehouse staff to confirm product quantity, quality, location, and proper receiving<\/li>\n
  • Review inventory regularly and resolve discrepancies with the warehouse team<\/li>\n
  • Help ensure food products comply with applicable FDA, USDA, HACCP, and food safety requirements<\/li>\n
  • Create promotional flyers and product catalogs<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate semiannual inventory counts, which may occasionally take place on weekends<\/li>\n
  • Attend company events or functions outside regular business hours as needed<\/li>\n
  • Perform other purchasing-related duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Office and Sales Support \u2014 20%<\/span><\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Answer incoming phone calls<\/li>\n
    • Report inventory shortages, delays, or service issues to the appropriate team member<\/li>\n
    • Work with the sales team to monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely completion<\/li>\n
    • Prepare and update monthly sales reports and related materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Qualifications<\/span><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • High school diploma or equivalent required<\/li>\n
      • Bachelor\u2019s degree in business or a related field preferred<\/li>\n
      • At least 2 years of relevant purchasing, inventory, or supply chain experience<\/li>\n
      • Food industry experience preferred<\/li>\n
      • Business-level English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing<\/li>\n
      • Business-level Japanese preferred<\/li>\n
      • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel<\/li>\n
      • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems preferred<\/li>\n
      • Strong mathematical skills, including profit margin, markup, discount, measurement conversion, and inventory calculations<\/li>\n
      • Excellent organizational and time-management skills<\/li>\n
      • Strong attention to detail<\/li>\n
      • Effective communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n
      • Ability to manage changing priorities and workloads<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of Japanese food products, sake, or Japanese culture preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Physical and Work Requirements<\/span><\/h3>\n

        • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods<\/li>\n
        • Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, kneel, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds<\/li>\n
        • Office noise levels may range from normal to loud<\/li>\n
        • Availability to work occasional weekends or attend events outside regular business hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
