{"id":25992,"date":"2026-08-06T20:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T20:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pasona.com\/job\/062848\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T20:29:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T20:29:30","slug":"062848","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.pasona.com\/en\/job\/062848\/","title":{"rendered":"Operations Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Operations Specialist<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Exempt<\/p>\n<p> <em>(Occasional long working hours, evening, and weekend work may be required.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Houston, Texas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Office Hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Monday \u2013 Friday, 8:00 a.m. \u2013 4:00 p.m. (CST)<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h2>Product<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately 200,000 metric tons of methanol annually (approximately USD $70 million in sales)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Target Market<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Formaldehyde<\/li>\n<li>Acetic Acid<\/li>\n<li>Other downstream chemical manufacturers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sales Territory<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>North America, with potential expansion into South America<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h1>Qualifications<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude toward open communication, sharing ideas, and contributing to business strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Creative thinker with the ability to work independently to achieve business objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three (3) years of logistics experience, preferably in the chemical industry.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing chemical product logistics throughout the U.S., including terminals, chemical tankers, barges, railcars, trucks, and overseas transportation.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Incoterms\u00ae 2020.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor&#039;s degree in Business or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<li>Eagerness to learn and quickly assume ownership of responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h1>Essential Responsibilities<\/h1>\n<h2>Logistics Coordination<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Schedule and coordinate transportation plans for domestic and international shipments, including vessels and barges.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels at U.S. storage terminals by coordinating transportation schedules and collecting sales forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve operational issues including delays, demurrage, contamination, product damage, and other logistics-related matters through effective communication with customers, suppliers, and logistics vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain strong working relationships with logistics providers to ensure smooth daily operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Logistics Analysis &amp; Cost Optimization<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a thorough understanding of logistics agreements and contracts involving terminals, vessels, barges, railcars, railroads, and other transportation providers.<\/li>\n<li>Understand logistics-related terms and obligations within sales and purchase agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Continuously improve logistics efficiency and reduce transportation costs through optimized planning and execution.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze sales pricing, purchase pricing, logistics costs, and their impact on profitability, and provide recommendations for operational improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a database of logistics agreements and contracts with transportation vendors and participate in strategic contract negotiations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sales Support<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide logistics cost analysis and operational support to the sales and marketing team.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate proactively with customers to understand logistics requirements and anticipate operational needs.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve customer issues related to transportation, demurrage, contamination, and other logistics matters.<\/li>\n<li>Advise the sales team regarding logistics-related provisions in sales contracts during both negotiation and implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Business Travel<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel with sales team members to visit customers and logistics vendors as needed (approximately five or more days per month, with occasional weekend travel).<\/li>\n<li>Prepare meeting agendas, discussion topics, questions, and presentations in advance.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on action items after meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Occasionally participate in global meetings held in Japan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Routine Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare business reports, including business trip reports, monthly reports, sales forecasts, and operational updates.<\/li>\n<li>Manage regulatory compliance matters, including FDA and TSCA requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Support the customer service team during monthly account closing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h1>Compensation &amp;
