Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite)<\/p>\n

Salary Range: $115,807 \u2013 $167,684 annually<\/p>\n

(Final compensation will be based on experience, education, skills, and market factors.)<\/p>\n

Position Summary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Seeking an experienced Design Center Manager to lead engineering and technical sales support activities for a growing product line. This role will manage a team of engineers (about 10\u031f members) responsible for developing innovative engineered solutions that meet customer and market requirements.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in assembly manufacturing environments, materials technology, backend assembly, component\/system-level design, and customer-facing technical support. This position also plays a key role in new business development, cross-functional collaboration, and global communication with production and engineering teams.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Lead and manage a team of design engineers and technical staff<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Sales teams to develop new products and improve existing product lines<\/li>\n
  • Support customer technical requirements, product development, and production optimization<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with assembly manufacturing operations to improve production efficiency and quality<\/li>\n
  • Research market trends and customer needs to identify business opportunities<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate closely with production operations and global engineering teams<\/li>\n
  • Resolve technical issues impacting product performance or market expansion<\/li>\n
  • Support strategic initiatives including technical partnerships and new business opportunities<\/li>\n
  • Manage customer relationships and serve as a technical point of contact<\/li>\n
  • Participate in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and expense management<\/li>\n
  • Present project updates and development progress to senior leadership<\/li>\n
  • Monitor project metrics, schedules, logistics, and performance analytics<\/li>\n
  • Mentor, train, and develop engineering team members<\/li>\n
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standards and company policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Engineering or related field<\/li>\n
    • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly manufacturing, or technical sales<\/li>\n
    • 3+ years of management experience in an engineering or production environment<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience supporting assembly production processes and manufacturing operations<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of technical drawings and customer engineering requirements<\/li>\n
    • Experience with materials, production processes, and manufacturing technologies<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of supply chain and production operations<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional\/global environments<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)<\/li>\n
    • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred<\/li>\n
    • Bilingual Japanese\/English skills are a plus<\/li>\n
    • Ability to travel up to 25%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        This role involves regular interaction with engineering, production, sales, and customer teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments may be required.<\/p>\n
