About the Role<\/span><\/h2>\n

A Japanese global manufacturing and technology company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations supporting our Ohio manufacturing plant. This role will lead plant accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide financial insights that support business and operational decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing and cost accounting expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and executive management.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Financial & Operational Accounting<\/span><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and consolidations<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Oversee manufacturing and cost accounting functions, including:<\/span>\n
      \n
    • Standard costing<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Inventory accounting and valuation<\/span><\/li>\n
    • BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Labor and overhead absorption<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Production variance analysis<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Monitor inventory controls and support physical inventory processes<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Analyze margins, operational performance, and cost reduction initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting activities<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Coordinate fixed asset accounting and CAPEX tracking<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Compliance, Controls & Audit<\/span><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Partner with external tax advisors on tax-related matters<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h1>\n
          \n
        • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field<\/span><\/li>\n
        • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Strong manufacturing accounting experience required<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Prior leadership experience managing or supervising accounting staff<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Experience with:<\/span>\n
            \n
          • Cost accounting<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Financial reporting<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Inventory management<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Internal controls<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Budgeting and forecasting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Strong knowledge of US GAAP<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or other manufacturing ERP systems<\/span><\/li>\n
          • CPA or CMA certification preferred<\/span><\/li>\n
