Work Hours:<\/strong> 8:00 AM \u2013 5:00 PM (Hawaii Time)<\/p>\n

Base Salary:<\/strong> 67-80k\/year <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Summary of the Position<\/h3>\n

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager<\/strong> to oversee finance and accounting operations. This role is responsible for financial closing, reporting, budgeting, consolidation, tax-related reporting, and financial analysis.<\/p>\n

The position also supervises accounting staff and works closely with management and overseas headquarters. Business-level Japanese and English communication skills are required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, consolidated P&L, balance sheets, and variance reports.<\/li>\n
  • Manage consolidation, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and foreign currency accounting.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and internal policies.<\/li>\n
  • Manage fixed assets and balance sheet account reconciliations.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare local tax returns and support external audits.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for management and overseas headquarters.<\/li>\n
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.<\/li>\n
  • Improve accounting procedures, systems, and internal controls.<\/li>\n
  • Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.<\/li>\n
  • Support hiring, performance reviews, and other departmental management activities.<\/li>\n
  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 7 years of accounting\/finance experience.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Management or supervisory experience.<\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, closing, consolidation, and GAAP.<\/li>\n
    • Fluent\/business-level Japanese and English (spoken and written).<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred Skills<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Experience with Oracle ERP<\/strong> or similar accounting\/ERP systems.<\/li>\n
      • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with consolidated financial reporting and foreign currency accounting.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working with a Japan-based headquarters or international organization is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Work Environment<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.<\/li>\n
        • Must be able to report to the Honolulu-area office as required.<\/li>\n
        • Occasional domestic travel, approximately twice per year.<\/li>\n
