This role offers a unique opportunity to go beyond traditional accounting and play a key role in building the organization\u2019s foundation, with exposure to general affairs and cross-functional operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">We are looking for a hands-on, adaptable professional who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">Job Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">Accounting Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Establish accounting work-flow including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations by collaborating with finance BPO and Finance team of Tokyo HQ<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Manage month-end and year-end close processes; prepare monthly financial statements (P&amp;L, balance sheet, cash flow statement) for review by Tokyo HQ and consolidated financial closing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Oversee US payroll processing in coordination with PEO provider; ensure accurate withholding, benefits deductions, and compliance with federal, New York State, and NYC regulations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions; implement and enforce internal controls appropriate for a growing startup<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Manage accounts payable: vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment scheduling, and expense report approvals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Monitor daily cash position and support cash flow forecasting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">Compliance &amp; Tax<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Coordinate US federal and state income tax filings with external CPA firm and Finance team of Tokyo<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Manage sales tax registration, collection, and remittance across all US states where nexus is established (e-commerce)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">Systems &amp; Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Own and administer accounting software (QuickBooks Online); evaluate and implement upgrades as the business scales<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Integrate accounting systems with Shopify (e-commerce revenue reconciliation), POS (retail), and payroll (PEO)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Establish SOPs for all core accounting processes; document and train future staff as the team grows<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Partner with the PEO provider on benefits administration, annual enrollment, and employee changes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">General Affairs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Manage legal documents, ensuring compliance with internal policies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Design and manage employee benefit programs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px\">Qualifications: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a high-growth consumer products company.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Proven ability to manage a full P&amp;L and a track record of driving operational improvements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel modeling.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Experience with financial reporting and consolidation is required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Experience working in a startup or early-stage environment is highly preferred<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Business-level English required;
