This role owns gross profit performance related to procurement activities and collaborates cross-functionally to maintain efficient supply chain and inventory control.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Own and manage gross profit related to purchasing activities<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors and suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Manage purchase orders (import and domestic) and all related documentation<\/li>\n<li>Travel as needed for supplier meetings (including domestic and international)<\/li>\n<li>Review and adjust cost of goods following container receipt<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and optimize inventory turnover and stock levels<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory management<\/li>\n<li>Support sales with strategies to reduce excess inventory, including promotions and clearance planning<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and localize sales materials, including translating product information into English<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and update POS data and product-related information<\/li>\n<li>Process vendor-related financial adjustments (e.g., debit notes for promotions or demos)<\/li>\n<li>Manage special orders for seasonal events, promotions, and fairs<\/li>\n<li>Recommend product additions, discontinuations, and assortment improvements<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FSMA)<\/li>\n<li>Support all other purchasing, product, and inventory management functions as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Japanese language: expert<\/li>\n<li>English language: professional proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Experience in food purchasing or procurement operations<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of import\/domestic purchasing processes and documentation<\/li>\n<li>Strong negotiation and vendor management skills<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of inventory control and supply chain coordination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in food distribution or import\/export environments<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with regulatory compliance (HACCP, FSMA)<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with POS systems and sales data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3><strong>Other Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
