Japanese trade and logistics company in downtown NYC seeks Japanese bilingual HR & Compliance Manager to lead human resources operations, drive regulatory and trade compliance initiatives, and support smooth organizational functions across our branches.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Human Resources Leadership <\/strong><\/p>\n Lead full HR operations including performance evaluations, compensation adjustments, job description updates, and employee training programs<\/p>\n Review and enforce HR policies, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and develop SOPs<\/p>\n Serve as the primary contact for employee relations, grievance handling, and issue resolution<\/p>\n Manage payroll and benefit administration (medical, dental, vision, FSA, workers\u2019 compensation, disability, etc.)<\/p>\n Coordinate with vendors for payroll, insurance, and benefit renewal processes<\/p>\n General Affairs Support<\/strong><\/p>\n Liaise with vendors for insurance and facility management<\/p>\n Manage business licenses (NVOCC, Freight Forwarder, Customs Broker)<\/p>\n Maintain personnel records and review administrative documents and contracts<\/p>\n Provide English\/Japanese translation as needed<\/p>\n Trade Compliance Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n Stay current on C\u2011<\/span>TPAT, TSA, and other regulatory compliance requirements<\/p>\n Manage license renewals, compliance documentation, and internal audits<\/p>\n Conduct staff training and coordinate corrective action for compliance issues<\/p>\n Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure branch\u2011<\/span>wide compliance<\/p>\n Leadership & Operational Excellence (Secondary Duties)<\/p>\n Supervise staff, provide performance feedback, and support professional development<\/p>\n Monitor workflow, scheduling, and quality control within HR & Compliance functions<\/p>\n Analyze operational reports and communicate trends to Senior Management<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Qualifications & Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Bachelor\u2019s degree in a related field (B.A.\/B.S.)<\/p>\n 6\u20138 years of experience in HR, compliance, or related areas<\/p>\n Strong understanding of HR laws, policies, and compliance procedures<\/p>\n Ability to read, write, and present professional materials in English<\/p>\n Strong analytical skills, including ability to solve problems with multiple variables<\/p>\n Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications<\/p>\n Ability to travel and work beyond standard hours when needed<\/p>\n
