This role focuses on <strong>injection molding operations, automation systems, and robotics<\/strong>, with a strong emphasis on hands-on problem solving on the production floor.<\/p>\n<p>The position is highly practical and collaborative, with approximately <strong>70% of time spent on the manufacturing floor (Gemba)<\/strong> observing processes, collecting data, and implementing improvements. Working closely with quality, maintenance, and production teams, the Production Engineer will help improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high-quality standards.<\/p>\n<p>This role is ideal for <strong>early-career engineers or professionals with injection molding experience<\/strong> who enjoy working directly with manufacturing processes and equipment.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Support production operations by troubleshooting manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation systems.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze production issues and perform <strong>root cause analysis<\/strong> to resolve quality or efficiency problems.<\/li>\n<li>Apply <strong>continuous improvement methodologies<\/strong> such as PDCA, Lean, and Six Sigma to optimize manufacturing performance.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with <strong>ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality standards<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Design and improve production processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain safety.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with <strong>automation systems, robotics, and material handling equipment<\/strong> used in injection molding operations.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct plant trials and testing to validate process improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and update <strong>standard operating procedures (SOPs)<\/strong> and process documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with <strong>quality, maintenance, and production teams<\/strong> to address manufacturing challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Support layout planning and equipment integration for process changes or new production initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence on the manufacturing floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in <strong>Engineering or a related technical field<\/strong>, or equivalent manufacturing experience.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in <strong>plastic injection molding manufacturing environments<\/strong> preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with <strong>PLC systems, CAD\/CAM, automation, or robotics<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of <strong>quality systems such as ISO9001 and IATF16949<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3>Preferred Skills<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with <strong>injection molding process parameters and mold setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of <strong>Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience performing <strong>process improvement and production optimization<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Strong data analysis and documentation skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h3>Work Environment<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Majority of work is <strong>hands-on in a manufacturing environment<\/strong>, spending significant time on the production floor.<\/li>\n<li>Regular standing, walking, and interaction with production equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Occasional lifting of up to <strong>50 pounds<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to industrial equipment, machinery, and manufacturing processes.
