Position Summary<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our client, a Japanese logistics company is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Operation staff<\/strong>. This role is responsible for handling end-to-end ocean import operations, including coordination with carriers, brokers, truckers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has strong import operations experience, excellent customer service skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Import Operations & Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Process international ocean and air import shipments, including documentation preparation and shipment coordination<\/li>\n
  • Track, trace, and provide shipment status updates to customers and internal teams<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate with carriers, steamship lines, co-loaders, overseas agents, brokers, truckers, rail yards, and CFS<\/li>\n
  • Proactively notify customers of delays, delivery issues, and additional charges<\/li>\n
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Systems & Data Management <\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Input duty amounts, Pier Pass fees, freight rates, and ISO information into Cargo Wise<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Track ISFs, verify arrival information, and open entries as needed<\/li>\n
    • Pay Pier Pass fees via TMF website<\/li>\n
    • Monitor and review PODs and exception reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Billing, Accounting & Documentation Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Prepare files for billing and ensure accurate documentation<\/li>\n
      • Create client billing and support accounting processes in a timely and accurate manner<\/li>\n
      • Coordinate with Accounting on ACH payments, CBP payments, and surety billings<\/li>\n
      • Collect OBLs and charges from importers\/brokers and submit promptly to Accounting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Customer Service & Office Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email quickly and professionally<\/li>\n
        • Receive visitors, messengers, and trucking company runners at the front desk<\/li>\n
        • Assist with check requests and overnight delivery to steamship lines and vendors<\/li>\n
        • Support KPI monitoring and profit improvement initiatives (cargo insurance, service markups, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Minimum 3 years of experience<\/strong> in ocean import operations (Break Bulk experience preferred)<\/li>\n
          • Knowledge of U.S. import procedures, documentation, ISF, and CBP requirements<\/li>\n
          • Experience with CargoWise<\/strong> strongly preferred<\/li>\n
          • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills<\/li>\n
          • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines<\/li>\n
          • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
