Summary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Controller (Consolidation) is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and processes, producing consolidated financial statements, and leading post-merger accounting integrations. This role plays a critical function in ensuring financial compliance and robust internal controls to support the company's growth. Experience in manufacturing accounting is preferred.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japanese bilingual ability is required<\/strong> due to regular communication with the Japanese headquarters and involvement in internal audits and documentation.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Prepare and deliver consolidated financial statements to internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Lead accounting integration projects following mergers and acquisitions.<\/li>\n
  • Continuously improve consolidation workflows, reporting packages, and internal controls.<\/li>\n
  • Review customer contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606\/IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate closely with external auditors and internal auditors from the Japanese headquarters.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare annual internal documentation such as corporate self-assessments.<\/li>\n
  • Act as the primary liaison during the Japanese HQ internal audit visit (typically once per year).<\/li>\n
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for accounting operations.<\/li>\n
  • Support daily financial functions under the VP of Finance and Director of Finance.<\/li>\n
  • Lead or assist with various controllership tasks and ad-hoc finance projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n
      \n
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory costing methodologies.<\/li>\n
    • Japanese bilingual fluency is required<\/strong> (spoken and written).<\/li>\n
    • Experience in manufacturing accounting is preferred<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Effective leadership and decision-making skills.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.<\/li>\n
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.<\/li>\n
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP\/accounting systems.<\/li>\n
    • Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities in a deadline-driven environment.<\/li>\n
    • Motivated self-starter with a growth mindset.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in public accounting or internal audit is a plus.<\/li>\n
    • Background in continuous improvement environments is advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Education and Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n
        \n
      • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting or a related field required.<\/li>\n
      • CPA certification preferred.<\/li>\n
      • Minimum of 7 years of accounting and\/or audit experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
