Job Title: Safety Assistant & Translator<\/p>\n

SUMMARY: Responsible for administrative safety support at site-level assigned; and utilizing verbal and written communication using translation and interpreting from Japanese to English and English to Japanese.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:<\/p>\n
Facilitate new hire safety training, recordkeeping and documentation<\/p>\n
Participate in safety 5S initiatives and communicate activities for improvement<\/p>\n
Perform a variety of administrative tasks including scheduling, document preparation, disseminating, and recording<\/p>\n
Provide safety support to facility personnel<\/p>\n
Interpret oral communication between Japanese speaking and English-speaking employees<\/p>\n
Translate a variety of written and oral technical correspondence, safety materials, and instructions<\/p>\n
Maintain confidentiality when translating employee counseling and performance, conduct, or safety incidents<\/p>\n
Assist in maintaining and promoting 5S workplace organization standards<\/p>\n
Assist inpatriate employees by translating various forms of personnel correspondence related to housing, local legal requirements for continued employment, and periodically assist offsite for translation as needed<\/p>\n
Effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication\uf0b7 Performs other duties of a similar nature or level<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Required Education and Experience:<\/p>\n
High school diploma or G.E.D.; and,<\/p>\n
One (1) year of Japanese to English translation and interpretation; and,<\/p>\n
One (1) year of English to Japanese translation and interpretation; and,<\/p>\n
Knowledge of:<\/p>\n
Business-level Japanese and English vocabulary and meaning<\/p>\n
American and Japanese cultures and business acumen<\/p>\n
