Job Title:<\/strong> Japanese or Chinese Bilingual -Assistant Purchasing Manager<\/p>\n

Location: <\/strong>Houston, TX<\/p>\n

Scheduled Work Hours:<\/strong> M-F: 9AM \u2013 6PM<\/p>\n

Report to: <\/strong>Purchasing Manager<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Essential Job Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on the designated stock level and lead-time.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist department manager to manage all purchasing department personnel matters and job<\/p>\n

performances.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain and analyze order receiving records from different suppliers, including but not<\/p>\n

limited to quality and quantity, and determine the best procurement option for the company.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Evaluate and assure the qualities of received items are consistent with purchase orders.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure product quality by sampling and customer feedback; address problems to suppliers<\/p>\n

and resolve the issues.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Research and select prospective vendors and negotiate prices\/contracts.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Coordinate with purchasing team to build and maintain relationships with suppliers; assure<\/p>\n

the quality of products, timely delivery, and compliance of contracts are consistently<\/p>\n

addressed.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Set up vendor numbers and item stock numbers in a timely manner.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Analyze and forecast product sales volume and market demands, and create purchase orders<\/p>\n

based on sales volume, demands, and inventory level.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist department manager to manage all aspects of liquor, refrigerated, frozen, and dry food,<\/p>\n

non-food purchases, including sourcing, price negotiations, transportation planning, and<\/p>\n

product development.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Count item inventory whenever the numbers are inconsistent to the warehouse inventory<\/p>\n

records.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Frequently review inventory for discrepancies, large volume outbound orders, slow selling<\/p>\n

items, and expired items and work with the warehouse for resolutions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Develop and execute purchasing strategies to support the organization's business objectives.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Coordinate quality inspections of incoming materials, verifying that goods meet required<\/p>\n

specifications and standards.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain and review supplier documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs), safety<\/p>\n

data sheets (SDS), and audit results.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Collaborate regularly with purchasing teams across branch locations in Texas; responsibilities<\/p>\n

include but are not limited to, coordinating supply planning, maintaining consistent stock<\/p>\n

levels, sharing best practices, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving<\/p>\n

procurement efficiency.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Other duties as required.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Obligation to answer to all management as requested.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to sit and work in an office setting for extended periods.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to use type and use the computer for extended periods.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift and\/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Business level English required \u2013 read\/write\/speak\/listen.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Business level Japanese or Chinese required \u2013 read\/write\/speak\/listen.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain a positive attitude.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to work independently and efficiently as a team.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business or other related field required.<\/p>\n

\u2022 3+ years of Japanese food purchasing experiences required.<\/p>\n

Knowledge and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to<\/p>\n

detail.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Possess intermediate mathematical knowledge – profit margin calculations, markups,<\/p>\n

discounts, combining\/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge of ERP systems.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge of Japanese foods\/non-food items and kitchen supplies.<\/p>\n
