Purchasing Specialist (Japanese Bilingual) \u2013 Bremen, GA<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Salary Range:<\/strong> $70k-$110k DOE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Position Summary<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Purchasing Specialist will coordinate and manage activities related to the purchasing and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies within a manufacturing facility. This role supports both domestic and global sourcing initiatives and contributes to new product launches, cost reduction efforts, and supplier performance management.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Estimate material costs by reviewing market pricing and supplier costs<\/li>\n
  • Manage negotiation and implementation of technical modifications<\/li>\n
  • Oversee event ordering activities, including RFQ, negotiation, ordering, and delivery expediting<\/li>\n
  • Support domestic and global sourcing for multiple brands<\/li>\n
  • Participate in and support new product launches<\/li>\n
  • Develop and execute cost reduction programs and maintain accountability for direct material costs<\/li>\n
  • Lead project management for purchasing activity (budget, timing, accountability) across multiple concurrent product development programs<\/li>\n
  • Ensure product launches meet program targets for quality, cost, and timing<\/li>\n
  • Hold suppliers accountable to commitments and deliverables; escalate issues as necessary<\/li>\n
  • Identify new cost-effective materials, parts, and products for current and future programs<\/li>\n
  • Ensure supplier documentation is complete, including required agreements, assessments, and quality documentation<\/li>\n
  • Apply required information to the Local Procurement Technical Assessment and coordinate meetings when needed<\/li>\n
  • Support other departments as required<\/li>\n
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships, viewing suppliers as long-term partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Required Education & Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 3\u20135 years of procurement experience<\/strong> in a manufacturing environment<\/li>\n
    • Experience with negotiation, sourcing, bidding, contracting, supplier performance management, and risk management<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n<\/hr>\n

      Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Familiarity with purchasing systems (e.g., SAP<\/strong>) and MRP systems (e.g., JD Edwards EnterpriseOne<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
      • Japanese-English bilingual proficiency<\/strong> (business level or higher strongly preferred)<\/li>\n
      • Experience working in multicultural environments<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of international trade practices<\/li>\n
      • Experience with 6S\/5S<\/strong> methodologies<\/li>\n
      • Lean Six Sigma certification (belt holder)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Work Environment<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        This role is based in a manufacturing facility environment.
